A Young Gentleman Needs Counseling For His Acute Depression, Relationship Problems, And For His Drug And Alcohol Dependency

Approximately eight months ago I had breakfast with a thirty-three-year-old male named Benjamin who suffers from severe depression, has relationship difficulties, and who is drug and alcohol dependent. As declared by Benjamin, it is his drug and alcohol dependency and his extreme depression that has had the most to do with his perpetual relationship problems.

As affirmed by Benjamin, he is so overwhelmed by his relationship issues and by both of his medical issues that he essentially has little or no enthusiasm to accomplish much of anything. It may be asked how treatment would help his drug and alcohol dependency. Second, in counseling he could also learn more about his alcoholism symptoms and also about the various stages of alcoholism.

Third, Benjamin would learn to admit the fact that there is completely nothing beneficial about chemical dependency and careless drinking. In a similar way, he would also learn that engaging in one or both of these unhealthy conditions is the route to legal problems, poor work and school performance, shattered relationships, financial difficulties, deteriorating health, and possibly a premature death. Fourth, treatment for his depression and for his relationship difficulties might help him deal with these mental health issues more effectively and help create less of a need for him to involve himself in addictive behavior. And finally,in rehabilitation he could also learn more about the different symptoms of alcoholism that he has displayed.

Due to the fact that Benjamin lacks the motivation to succeed at doing much of anything in his life, it is obvious that he urgently needs some hope for a healthier lifestyle. And the sad thing is that hope is virtually everywhere around Benjamin if he could only get to the point in life to get the treatment he requires for his mental illness and drug addiction and alcohol dependency and stay with his treatment protocol.

Benjamin is clearly too young to be defeated in life. He doesn't comprehend this at the moment but if he can learn how to remove himself from drugs and alcohol via alcohol and drug therapy and get the treatment he requires for his severe depression, he can redirect his life and start living with passion, self-respect, and direction.

Stronger relationships, positive change, self respect, and a meaningful life are clearly possibilities for Benjamin. But only if he can get inspired to get the professional rehab he needs, follow through with his therapy regimen, live his life in a drug and alcohol-free and healthy manner, and learn how to cultivate a more positive attitude about his life.
